Bollywood actor Salman Khan paid tribute to legendary Indian sprinter Milkha Singh in a tweet on Saturday. The actor called the Flying Sikh an ‘inspiration’. Milkha Singh passed away late Friday night due to COVID-19 complications. He was 91. Apart from Salman Khan, many other Bollywood celebrities offered their condolences. Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and many others made posts, pouring in condolences. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Mode also paid tribute to the Flying Sikh.

Taking to his Twitter, Salman Khan tweeted, “You will always be an inspiration... RIP Milkha Singh Ji..” The actor offered his condolences and remembered the legendary sprinter. Salman prayed for Singh’s soul.

Meanwhile, Milkha Singh breathed his last in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Chandigarh’s PGIMER hospital. The legendary sprinter passed away after battling COVID-19 for almost a month. He left for his heavenly abode just five days after his wife, Nirmal Kaur’s demise. Milkha Singh had tested positive for the Coronavirus on May 20, this year. He was in home isolation at his residence in Chandigarh. Back when the Flying Singh tested positive, it was his wife who confirmed he is stable and doing well. During his illustrious career, Milkha Singh has won gold in the 400 metres race during 1958 and 1962 Asian Games. He also represented the country in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome and the Summer Olympics of Tokyo in 1964
